The book's title perfectly describes its contents: it's not a history of the planet or the origins of life on it, but a history of humans from the moment scientists stopped considering them animals and classified them as Homo, to the present day. The authors compress two million years of human history, from the domestication of fire and the digging stick, the transition to sedentarism and agriculture, to space travel, mobile phones, and artificial intelligence, into just fifteen spreads of a picture book. But it's very revealing and visual.
