The Price of Victory: Russian Schoolchildren on the War

This book brings together works by Russian schoolchildren dedicated to the Great Patriotic War, selected from 1,500 entries submitted to the annual All-Russian Historical Competition of the Memorial Society in 2004–2005. Most of the participants were teenagers from small Russian towns, villages, and settlements. The works present a complex picture of the war through the prism of family memory, filling in gaps with documents found in family and state archives.
