Fritz Leiber. The Ship Sails at Midnight.

The future Grandmaster of Science Fiction, Fritz Reuter Leiber Jr., was born into a family of actors who immigrated from Germany. He grew up in the theater world, trained as a psychologist and physiologist, tried several professions, and, to the delight of lovers of high prose, settled on literature. From his very first publications, he became a popular writer, and, as a result of his work, one of the brightest stars of the "Golden Age of Science Fiction." In addition to "The Saga of Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser," which established his reputation as a creator of heroic fantasy, and other renowned major works, he created many equally vibrant novellas and short stories, where irony is sometimes intricately intertwined with horror, the scientific coexists harmoniously with the absurd, and sophisticated psychologism in no way softens the plot's sharp edges.
Leiber's literary legacy has been garnered six Nebula Awards, four Hugo Awards, three World Fantasy Awards, and many other prestigious honors.
Most of the works included in this collection are published in Russian for the first time or are presented in a new translation.
