Jonas Mekas. Letters from Nowhere

"Letters from Nowhere" is both a book by Jonas Mekas and a book about Jonas Mekas. The very first description any reference book gives of him is "the godfather of New York avant-garde cinema." That this Lithuanian-American poet, writer, director, critic, and producer is far broader and deeper than anyone's impression is demonstrated by his "Letters from Nowhere" series of essays on society and culture, on land and people, on minority languages ​​and peoples. It also includes the memoirs of friends and a critical essay on his work.

At the same time, photographs by his friend Arūnas Kulikauskas and shots of Mekas create a visual representation of the artist’s environment and inner world.
