Why do children resemble their parents? How much of our personality is determined by our genes? This book explains genetic theory: what genes are, the important role of DNA, and how all these discoveries relate to the curious monk from Brno. Readers will embark on a fascinating journey through the history of science and the latest genetic research.

Carla Hefner
Born in 1978, she is a physician by profession. After the birth of her first child, she began composing children's songs and poems. At first, she wrote them for family, but later they were published as a book. To date, Carla Hefner has published over 50 children's books, all while maintaining her medical practice. She lives in Neu-Ulm with her husband, three children, and ten dwarf rabbits.

Micke Scheyer
Born in 1986, in a village near Osnabrück, she studied cultural studies at the universities of Freiburg and Strasbourg and trained as an illustrator at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences, where she now lives. On weekends, she enjoys going to flea markets and hunting for oddities. Perhaps because she loves puzzles. Her first book was even called "It Doesn't Fit."
