Kir Bulychev's collection includes the stories "The Kindness Radiator," "Detective Alice," and "A Planet for Tyrants." The first story tells of Alice's visit to the Chinese professor Lu Fu, the inventor of the kindness radiator. She unexpectedly meets InterGalactic Police super agent Cora Orvat and finds herself in the Golden Triangle, a hub of drug trafficking. In the second story, InterGalactic Police Commissioner Milodar himself approaches Alice for help after his latest investigation has reached a dead end. Alice immediately sets out to find the mysterious guests who have appeared in the Moscow area: Baba Yaga, Nightingales the Robbers, mermaids, wood-goblins, and other malevolent fairy-tale characters. In the story "A Planet for Tyrants," Alice, along with her friend, the sentient spaceship Gai-do, helps return a jade railway to the children of the distant planet Uxu, which was stolen by a tyrant exiled from the planet. This edition features 107 illustrations by Evgeny Migunov, Kir Bulychev's most renowned illustrator. It is intended for middle school students.
