"Dovlatov – My Good Friend" is a book of memoirs. Its hero is Sergei Dovlatov, one of the most prominent figures of the Leningrad literary scene of the 1960s and 1970s and one of the most prominent representatives of the third wave of Russian emigration. At the end of the last century, Dovlatov's name finally became iconic in his homeland, Russia. Interest in the writer's personality and work, an attempt to explain the "Dovlatov phenomenon" – this is perhaps what compels those who knew him closely to take up their pen again and again.
