Maria Parr. Oscar and I. Our Places

A new story by Maria Parr, the "Norwegian Astrid Lindgren," whose books our readers have come to know and love through Olga Drobot's brilliant translations, is finally available in Russian from SamTamBooks (Switzerland).

"Oscar and Me: Our Places" tells stories from the lives of eight-year-old Ida and her five-year-old brother, Oscar: about a monster lurking in the closet, a safari in a concrete pipe, lost vampires, and how, as we grow up, the world around us shrinks, and that growing up brings not only joyful changes but also loss. But family remains a place where you will always be understood and accepted.

"Oscar and I" was awarded Norway's premier literary prize, the Braga Prize (2023), the Nynorsk barnelitteraturpris (2023) for children's literature, and the Italian Premio Letteratura Ragazzi di Cento (2025). In 2025, it was included in the international catalog of the best children's and young adult books, "White Crows."
