Movement offers a host of benefits. Everyone prays for those who swim and travel, they have no dietary restrictions during Lent, and travelers aren't required to be adequate to the surrounding reality—they're not locals, after all. You walk, eat, and gawk, while the world around you worries: those back home, your pursuers, and those who want to impress you to get your money. This exhilarating irresponsibility will last only as long as you can walk and until your credit card is empty. Immediately after that, you'll find yourself in a worse position than any peer who's been sitting still: they've been saving up for years, while you've been spending. In that case, you can simply return home, and, strangely unfairly, you'll be welcomed more than someone who came home every day. But that's assuming you had a home.
