Orson Scott Card's Ender Wiggin series is a landmark in world science fiction. The first novel in the series, Ender's Game, is an absolute masterpiece and a rare example in the history of the genre of a novel winning both the Hugo and Nebula awards in the same year. In 2013, Gavin Hood adapted it into a film of the same name, starring Harrison Ford.
"Speaker for the Dead" is a sequel to "Ender's Game" and a reimagining of the war's outcome, when, thanks to Ender's efforts, people heard the voice of their enemy, were horrified by what they had done, and cursed the name of their savior.
Card went far beyond the space action film, placing a child at the center of the narrative and emphasizing personality development. The writer demonstrated his protagonist's genius and heroism not only in his incredible victories but also in his ability to remain human in inhuman circumstances.
The first two novels in this edition are supplemented by short stories that add new facets to the main narrative of this saga.
