Memory of the Siege: Eyewitness Accounts and Historical Consciousness of Society. Materials and Research

This publication presents the results of the research projects "The Siege in the Fates and Memory of Leningraders" and "The Siege of Leningrad in the Collective and Individual Memory of the City's Residents" (2001-2003) conducted by the European University at St. Petersburg's Oral History Center. These projects analyze the image of the Leningrad Siege in the public consciousness of Leningrad residents in the postwar era. These studies of individual and collective memory of the siege are accompanied by the publication of interviews with survivors of the siege and younger Leningraders whose parents or close relatives lived in the city during the siege.
