The incredible – and yet completely true – story of two friends, British Air Force Private Frank Williams and his dog Judy, during World War II. They survived bombings and shipwrecks, and spent several years in a Japanese concentration camp, taking turns saving each other from death. Frank secured official prisoner of war status for his dog, who fed her friend game caught in the jungle. They nearly died on a "hellship" (a prisoner transport) torpedoed by a British submarine, but managed to reunite under the noses of their guards. Having survived the concentration camp, Frank and Judy remained inseparable until their deaths. Frank and Judy's story is equal to that of Hachiko, and in some ways even surpasses it: their loyalty and courage, fierce will to live, and selflessness have become legendary.
