Energy is difficult to define. It's not a substance, not a matter, not a liquid, not a gas. But no matter what we do, we constantly expend it. And not just when we turn on the computer or drive a car, but also when we think or simply lie on the couch. Therefore, the question of where to get energy is eternal.
But beyond this question, many others arise. Where does electricity come from, and how does it get into our homes? Is it possible to live without wires? How can lightning energy be harnessed? Why do swings swing, while slingshots simply didn't exist two hundred years ago? If you're interested in learning about these things, this book is for you. And remember, questions are the very first step toward scientific discovery.
