Scott Crowe, Black Flags and Windmills

Hurricane Katrina was the most devastating hurricane in U.S. history, yet few of us realize what the Gulf Coast residents actually had to endure.

The state machine demonstrated its incompetence, abandoning people to perish in flooded homes, die of hunger and disease; uncontrolled police violence and armed terror by racists began.

Scott Crowe ventured into the exclusion zone at his own risk to save his friend, and when he found people in distress, he stayed.

Using their knowledge, practical experience, and connections with caring people across the country, Scott and his comrades were able to create the "Common Platform" collective. Together with local residents, they treated and fed the victims, cleared rubble, and helped people save their homes.
