"Lolita" is Vladimir Nabokov's most famous work, a recognized masterpiece of 20th-century world literature. It is the writer's third American novel, later translated into Russian. First published in 1955, "Lolita" caused a scandal on both sides of the Atlantic and simultaneously elevated the author to the pinnacle of literary prominence.
